Senior Engineer, Central Engineering CAD
Role Summary
Join the Central Engineering NAND Enablement team to develop and maintain CAD flows and simulation environments that support Micron's NAND memory design teams. The role is based in Avezzano, Italy and focuses on improving pre‑silicon verification, design productivity, and simulation accuracy for analog and digital circuits.
Experience Level
Senior level. The posting requests approximately 2–5 years of related work experience.
Responsibilities
Deliver and support CAD infrastructure, simulation, and automated workflows to improve design quality and throughput.
- Develop tools, flows, and methodologies to increase design efficiency and quality for NAND memory designs.
- Perform and optimize analog and digital circuit simulations to identify and reduce pre‑silicon failures.
- Design and implement agentic AI/automation workflows, including AI‑assisted assistants and rule‑aware automation for simulation and verification.
- Collaborate with design, verification, layout teams, and EDA vendors to integrate and validate flows.
- Create training materials, documentation, and provide user support for new tools and methods.
- Drive productivity improvements and transfer best practices across global sites.

- Must-have: Strong programming fundamentals.
- Must-have: Experience in circuit simulation (analog and digital).
- Must-have: Strong problem-solving and communication skills; ability to work in global cross-functional teams.
- Preferred: Experience with Unix and shell scripting.
- Preferred: Experience with IC design CAD tools (schematics, layout, simulation or verification) from leading EDA vendors (e.g., Cadence, Synopsys).
- Preferred: Direct experience with CMOS implementation and tradeoffs for area, speed, and power.
- Preferred: Understanding of ML/AI concepts and hands-on experience designing or deploying ML/AI solutions; exposure to AI-assisted automation or LLM-based workflows is a plus.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a similar technical field — or equivalent practical experience.
