Role Summary
As a Senior Applications Engineer for maXTouch capacitive touch products, you will develop hardware and software solutions, support customer projects worldwide, and contribute to next-generation touch products as part of local and global teams.
Experience Level
Senior level. The posting states 0–7 years' post‑graduate experience and is flexible on years of experience.
Responsibilities
Key duties include development, customer support, and validation of touch products and related tools.
- Act as applications lead on multi-discipline product development teams; own applications tasks, product validation, and documentation.
- Design and develop evaluation boards and custom test equipment for maXTouch products.
- Develop software tooling (C#, Python) and work with embedded C firmware.
- Apply AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT) to assist and optimise workflows.
- Troubleshoot customer designs, recommend improvements, and assist with manufacturability and usage issues.
- Deliver training on maXTouch products to customers in person and virtually.
- Follow company hardware/software design rules, processes, and QA guidelines.
- Travel as required (0–25%).
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and demonstrable experience; preferred items noted where applicable.
- Electronic circuit design experience (analogue and digital).
- Experience with circuit test, debug and diagnostics; competent with lab equipment (oscilloscope) and soldering.
- PCB schematic entry experience.
- Embedded software development in C.
- Experience developing software in C# and/or Python.
- Experience working in multi-discipline teams to deliver full product lifecycle development.
- Practical experience using AI tools in the work environment.
- Proven problem-solving skills and strong technical communication (verbal and written English).
- Ability and motivation to acquire deep product and application expertise.
Education Requirements
Ideally M.Sc. or B.Sc. / B.Eng. Hons. in Electronics or a related subject; HND plus relevant experience is acceptable. The posting allows equivalent practical experience and states 0–7 years' post‑graduate experience.
