Job Title
Senior Engineer, Analog Design
Role Summary
Individual contributor responsible for leading IP design blocks for power management ICs (PMICs), including linear and switching DC‑DC converters, LDOs, charge pumps and related analog blocks. Works within the Power Business Unit to develop product-ready ICs and coordinate with cross-functional teams for integration and silicon bring-up.
Experience Level
Senior-level. The role requests 5+ years of experience in analog circuit or power IC design.
Responsibilities
Deliver and own analog/power IP from specification through silicon while identifying and mitigating technical risks.
- Lead design and integration of PMIC IPs: positive/negative charge pumps, source-sink LDOs, linear and switching converters, oscillators, temperature sensors, current sense, SAR ADCs, housekeeping and protection circuits.
- Design, analyze and compensate control loops to meet target performance and stability.
- Define and drive analog layout strategy, FET layout and noise-isolation techniques from floorplan to chip-top completion and verification.
- Set up and optimize simulation/extraction flows (pre/post parasitic), address convergence and accuracy trade-offs, and debug tool-related issues.
- Create and enforce design flows, checklists and review processes to ensure quality and silicon success.
- Collaborate with verification, test, packaging and system teams for successful IC integration and release.
Requirements
Key technical must-haves for successful performance in this role.
- Proven hands-on experience designing complex analog circuits and power-management IP with full ownership.
- Deep understanding of power devices, switching/switch-cap circuits, and common analog blocks (bandgap, op-amps, comparators, level shifters).
- Experience in analog layout practices, FET layout and noise isolation.
- Strong skills in circuit simulation, extraction and tool-flow optimization for speed, convergence and accuracy.
- Ability to perform design trade-offs, innovate to meet challenging specifications, and drive designs through to silicon validation.
- Self-motivated, willing to learn and take ownership of tasks to completion.
Nice-to-have: prior PMIC experience for mobile/handheld devices, familiarity with protection circuits and SAR ADC implementation.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
