Job Title

Senior Engineer, Adv PD Photolithography

Role Summary

Execute photolithography process development, optimization, and troubleshooting to meet yield, quality, and performance targets in a wafer fabrication environment. Work includes process characterization, material and defect evaluations, integration learning, and technology transfer while collaborating with multiple engineering functions.

The role uses DOE/SPC and statistical analysis and incorporates AI-assisted tools to improve efficiency and outcomes.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Typical experience: approximately 3–5+ years of relevant semiconductor photolithography process development experience.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include experimental execution, data analysis, documentation, and cross-functional coordination.

  • Design, execute, and analyze experiments (DOE, SPC) to optimize photolithography processes.
  • Characterize process behavior: process window definition, overlay analysis, material evaluations, and defect learning.
  • Troubleshoot process issues and support integration during development and early manufacturing ramps.
  • Collaborate with integration, etch, metrology, yield engineering, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Document experimental procedures, results, and learnings in technical reports and presentations.
  • Support technology transfer activities under the direction of senior engineers.
  • Integrate, evaluate, and share AI-assisted tools and AI-enabled process improvements within assigned scope.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, interpersonal abilities, and preferred exposures for this role.

  • Proven ability to contribute effectively to photolithography process development initiatives and improvement plans.
  • Deep knowledge of optics, immersion lithography, polarized illumination, and low k1 imaging.
  • Proficiency with lithography simulation tools, material characterization methods, DOE, SPC, and basic statistical data analysis.
  • Analytical thinking, structured problem-solving, clear technical communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
  • Role-appropriate digital fluency and AI literacy to use AI-enabled tools responsibly and effectively for research and operational tasks.
  • Preferred: exposure to advanced lithography (193nm, 248nm, 365nm), EUV processes, and hands-on experience with photolithography equipment and metrology tools.

Education Requirements

PhD; or Master’s with ≥3 years relevant experience; or Bachelor’s with ≥5 years relevant experience in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field - or equivalent practical experience.
