Role Summary

Work on SOC physical design implementation at the block level, delivering floorplanning, placement, clock tree synthesis, routing and physical verification to meet timing, congestion and area targets. The role contributes to timing closure, ECO implementation and cross-team problem resolution within a global engineering organization.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include executing and validating physical implementation and supporting closure activities.

• Block-level floorplanning, partitioning and placement.
• Clock tree synthesis (CTS) and routing.
• Physical verification (LVS/DRC/ERC/Antenna checks) and signoff preparation.
• Static timing analysis (STA), equivalence checks and timing closure activities.
• Crosstalk and noise delay analysis, and power optimization.
• Implement timing and functional ECOs and validate changes.
• Diagnose and resolve congestion and timing problems.
• Mentor and guide other team members; coordinate with global teams.
• Adopt new tools and methodologies; communicate technical status clearly.

Must-have:

• Hands-on SOC physical design experience covering floorplanning, placement, CTS, routing and physical verification.
• Experience with STA, timing analysis, equivalence checking and implementing timing/functional ECOs.
• Proven ability to achieve congestion, timing and area targets and resolve closure issues.
• Strong problem-solving skills and clear verbal/written communication.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate in a global, cross-functional team.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with tools such as Cadence Innovus/Encounter, ICC, Synopsys ICC, Mentor Calibre, LEC and Synopsys PrimeTime.
• Background in formal verification methods related to physical design flows.
