Senior Engineer
Role Summary
Work on SoC physical design across block- and chip-level flows including floorplanning, placement, clock tree synthesis, routing and physical verification. The role focuses on meeting congestion, timing and area targets and implementing timing/functional ECOs.
This position sits on a global physical design team and requires independent execution, mentoring of junior engineers, and close collaboration across verification, timing and signoff teams.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Perform block- and chip-level floorplanning, partitioning and placement.
- Run clock tree synthesis (CTS), routing and physical verification (LVS/DRC/ERC/Antenna).
- Conduct static timing analysis (STA), crosstalk and noise analysis; drive timing closure.
- Execute equivalence checks and implement timing and functional ECOs.
- Perform power optimization and work toward area/congestion targets.
- Resolve congestion and complex physical-design issues; propose practical solutions.
- Collaborate with global teams and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- Hands-on experience with SoC physical design flow: floorplanning, placement, CTS, routing, signoff verification.
- Proven ability to meet congestion, timing and area targets and to implement ECOs.
- Experience with timing analysis, equivalence checking, crosstalk/noise analysis and power optimization.
- Strong problem-solving skills and effective communication in global teams.
- Ability to work independently and to guide other team members.
Nice-to-have:
- Familiarity with tools such as Cadence Innovus/Encounter, ICC, Calibre, LEC and Synopsys PrimeTime.
- Experience with formal verification methods related to physical design flows.
