Job Title

Senior Embedded Systems Engineer — RF Systems

Role Summary

Lead design, development, and optimization of embedded platforms for RF front-ends and transceiver systems. The role spans firmware, low-level drivers, hardware integration, system validation, and algorithm prototyping for wireless technologies.

Work closely with RF, silicon, hardware, and systems teams to co-optimize hardware/software interfaces and deliver production-ready embedded solutions.

Experience Level

Senior — typically 7+ years of experience in embedded systems engineering with a focus on RF systems and real-time firmware.

Responsibilities

The position requires hands-on development, validation, and technical leadership across embedded RF projects.

  • Define and implement embedded system architectures for RF front-end and transceiver platforms.
  • Develop firmware and low-level drivers for RF control, calibration, and signal processing.
  • Integrate RF hardware (PAs, LNAs, filters, tuners, switches, transceivers) with embedded software systems.
  • Prototype and validate algorithms for RF calibration, power management, beamforming, and coexistence.
  • Develop automated test frameworks and use lab equipment (spectrum analyzers, VNAs, oscilloscopes) for system validation.
  • Perform system-level debugging, profiling, and optimization to meet real-time performance requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with wireless standards (LTE, 5G NR, Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth) and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership, document designs and IP, and mentor junior engineers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (RF design, silicon, hardware, systems) throughout development.
  • Travel as required (approximately 10%).

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience are listed first; preferred skills follow.

  • 7+ years of embedded systems engineering experience with a focus on RF systems.
  • Strong proficiency in C/C++ and embedded software development for real-time systems.
  • Experience with microcontrollers, DSPs, FPGAs, and SoCs used in RF applications.
  • Solid understanding of RF system-level design, calibration, and control.
  • Experience developing automated test frameworks and performing system-level debugging and profiling.
  • Familiarity with lab validation equipment and measurements (spectrum analyzers, VNAs, oscilloscopes).
  • Excellent collaboration and technical leadership skills; experience mentoring engineers.
  • Nice-to-have: embedded Linux, RTOS, hardware abstraction layers, DSP algorithm experience, high-speed interfaces (SPI, I2C, PCIe, Ethernet), and a track record of patents or publications.

Education Requirements

Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
