Experience Level
Senior — typically 6+ years of experience in Linux and complex embedded systems development.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include developing low‑level system software, collaborating with cross‑functional teams, and validating platform functionality and performance.
- Develop processor firmware, kernel drivers/modules, and user‑space applications and libraries.
- Collaborate with hardware and product design teams on SOC platform software integration.
- Support global teams with DPU project bring‑up, validation, and debugging.
- Optimize system‑level performance and resource utilization.
- Work in pre‑silicon mode using software simulators and hardware emulators to architect, measure, and optimize performance.
- Participate across the product development lifecycle with emphasis on clear requirements, quality, and performance.
Requirements
Core technical requirements and desirable skills.
Must-have
- Substantial experience developing Linux and complex embedded systems (kernel, firmware, and user space).
- Experience with Linux bootloader and boot firmware; familiarity with ATF/UEFI is a strong plus.
- Experience developing or maintaining Linux distributions, user‑space libraries/applications, and software update mechanisms.
- Proven debugging, analytical, and system‑level performance optimization skills.
- Experience with platform bring‑up and validation across distributed teams.
Nice-to-have
- Experience across multiple Linux distributions and comparing tradeoffs between them.
- Knowledge of secure boot flows, trusted compute environments, or security key management solutions.
- Familiarity with secure software development practices and sustaining commercial software through full product life cycles.
Education Requirements
Bachelor of Science or Master’s degree, or equivalent practical experience. (The posting explicitly allows equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.)
