Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer
Role Summary
The Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer will design and deliver firmware for high-performance networking and optical semiconductor products. The role sits on a cross-functional product team and focuses on ARM-based 32-bit microcontroller platforms, real-time software, and low-level device interfaces.
Experience Level
Senior β 10β12 years of relevant embedded firmware experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Lead firmware architecture, design, implementation, and feature delivery for networking and optical semiconductor systems.
- Develop and maintain device drivers and integrate with RTOS environments.
- Implement and validate communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet).
- Write, test, and debug embedded C code on ARM-based controllers.
- Manage build systems and makefiles; optimize build/configuration workflows.
- Collaborate with hardware, DSP, and software teams; participate in design reviews and feature planning.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- 10β12 years developing embedded firmware on 32-bit microcontrollers; strong preference for ARM-based architectures.
- Expert-level C programming and experience with RTOS integration.
- Device driver development experience and low-level hardware interfacing.
- Proven experience with communication protocols: SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet.
- Solid understanding of DSP concepts and practical implementations.
- Experience in networking and semiconductor product development.
- Proficiency managing build environments and makefiles.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage tasks, drive designs, and deliver features; strong analytical and communication skills.
- Nice-to-have: prior exposure to optical technologies.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
