Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer

Role Summary

The Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer will design and deliver firmware for high-performance networking and optical semiconductor products. The role sits on a cross-functional product team and focuses on ARM-based 32-bit microcontroller platforms, real-time software, and low-level device interfaces.

Senior β€” 10–12 years of relevant embedded firmware experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Lead firmware architecture, design, implementation, and feature delivery for networking and optical semiconductor systems.
  • Develop and maintain device drivers and integrate with RTOS environments.
  • Implement and validate communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet).
  • Write, test, and debug embedded C code on ARM-based controllers.
  • Manage build systems and makefiles; optimize build/configuration workflows.
  • Collaborate with hardware, DSP, and software teams; participate in design reviews and feature planning.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • 10–12 years developing embedded firmware on 32-bit microcontrollers; strong preference for ARM-based architectures.
  • Expert-level C programming and experience with RTOS integration.
  • Device driver development experience and low-level hardware interfacing.
  • Proven experience with communication protocols: SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet.
  • Solid understanding of DSP concepts and practical implementations.
  • Experience in networking and semiconductor product development.
  • Proficiency managing build environments and makefiles.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage tasks, drive designs, and deliver features; strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Nice-to-have: prior exposure to optical technologies.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
