Senior Embedded DSP Software Engineer
Role Summary
Join Qualcomm's DSP Architecture and Design team to design and implement embedded platform software for CPU, DSP, and NPU processors. The role focuses on building multimedia and AI frameworks, high-performance drivers, and runtime libraries to optimize performance and power for Snapdragon SoCs.
The position requires cross-functional collaboration to evaluate architecture trade-offs, integrate custom features, and support commercialization with global teams and OEM partners.
Experience Level
Senior. The role expects demonstrated experience in high-performance microprocessor design and embedded software optimization; practical experience of a few years in relevant domains is typical.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Design and develop multi-processor multimedia and AI frameworks across CPU, DSP, and NPU.
- Create high-performance drivers and runtime libraries to leverage DSP and AI hardware.
- Profile and optimize system performance for low latency and low power consumption.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate design trade-offs and integrate features.
- Integrate and test software on target devices and support commercialization with OEM partners.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Proficiency in C/C++ and experience with real-time operating systems.
- Experience in driver development and implementing runtime libraries for embedded platforms.
- Strong understanding of computer architecture, multi-core systems, multithreading, and caching mechanisms.
- Ability to profile and optimize system performance (latency, power).
- Experience integrating and testing software on target hardware and collaborating with cross-functional and OEM teams.
- Experience in high-performance microprocessor design.
- Nice-to-have: Familiarity with PCIe or Windows MCDM/WDDM driver stacks.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field with 2+ years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with 1+ year of experience; or a PhD in a related field.
