Senior Embedded Crypto Software Developer

Role Summary

Develop secure cryptographic libraries and algorithm implementations for embedded platforms, protected against logical and physical attacks. Work in an international development team to deliver crypto components used across NXP business lines (payment, identification, mobile, IoT, automotive, edge).

Experience Level

Senior — typically requires a Bachelor's plus 3–5 years of relevant experience; candidates with a Master's or PhD may be considered as starters.

Responsibilities

Primary hands-on responsibilities include coding, testing, and integrating cryptographic algorithms and libraries.

• Implement and maintain cryptographic algorithms (including post‑quantum) from specification through release.
• Develop and optimize embedded C and assembly code for ARM Cortex‑M and RISC‑V platforms.
• Design and implement hardware and software countermeasures against side‑channel and fault attacks.
• Perform code reviews, unit/integration testing, and support product integration across business lines.
• Coordinate with innovation, architecture, hardware, and support teams to deliver complete security subsystems.

Requirements

Essential technical skills and experience. "Nice-to-have" items indicate preferred qualifications.

• Must-have: Proficiency in embedded C and assembly for constrained devices.
• Must-have: Practical experience implementing and validating cryptographic algorithms and libraries.
• Must-have: Experience with ARM Cortex‑M and/or RISC‑V embedded platforms.
• Must-have: Knowledge of side‑channel analysis, fault‑attack countermeasures, and secure implementation practices.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with post‑quantum cryptography and algorithms such as AES, RSA, ECC, SHA.
• Nice-to-have: Experience in algorithm optimization, testing frameworks, and hardware/software co‑design.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree plus 3–5 years of relevant experience; or Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Mathematics, Information Technology, or Cryptography. (Candidates with graduate degrees may be considered as starters.)
