Senior Embedded Build & Release Engineer
Role Summary
Join the Fast Models DevOps & QA team within Arm's Software (CE-SW) group to design, implement and maintain build and release infrastructure for large-scale C/C++ software used by internal developer teams and customers. The role focuses on CI/CD, build automation, release coordination and tooling modernization for embedded and simulation software.
Experience Level
Senior β typically 8β10 years of relevant experience in build/release engineering, test automation, or DevOps for large software projects.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, implement and maintain scalable build systems for large C/C++ codebases (build orchestration, toolchains, build caching).
- Develop and automate CI/CD workflows and pipelines to support continuous integration, testing and releases.
- Investigate and resolve build, infrastructure and test failures in collaboration with developer teams.
- Coordinate and support release activities across teams and stakeholders.
- Analyze test results and metrics to drive quality improvements and inform engineering decisions.
- Modernize tooling and automation infrastructure, improving release workflows and developer productivity.
- Operate and support Linux-based build environments and cloud infrastructure used by the toolchain and CI systems.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- 8β10 years of professional experience in build/release engineering, DevOps or related software engineering roles.
- Hands-on Python experience and test automation development.
- Experience with C/C++ build systems and tooling such as CMake and Ninja.
- Proven experience setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and leading large projects.
- Comfortable working in Linux environments via CLI and scripting.
- Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure and services.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across teams and with stakeholders.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with Conan, Groovy scripting and Jenkins DSL.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, TeamCity, GitLab CI/CD, CircleCI.
- Infrastructure-as-code experience (Ansible, Chef, Terraform, Pulumi).
- Container and orchestration experience (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS/EKS/AKS).
- Cloud automation (Boto3) and experience across AWS, GCP or Azure.
- Data analytics and dashboarding solutions experience.
