Senior Electrical Engineer, Analog & Mixed-Signal
Role Summary
Senior technical leader responsible for the analog and mixed-signal electronics architecture for Voyant's LiDAR modules. Work at the intersection of product design, silicon photonics, and system integration to define standards, lead bring-up and validation, and mentor the hardware team.
Experience Level
Senior - 10+ years of hands-on hardware development with end-to-end ownership of multiple high-volume shipped systems.
Responsibilities
Lead architecture and execution for analog and mixed-signal subsystems across product programs.
- Define analog/mixed-signal architecture (TIAs, ADCs, precision current sources, LDOs, switching regulators) for next-generation LiDAR modules.
- Own signal integrity, power integrity, and EMI/EMC design standards and review processes.
- Lead bring-up, characterization, and validation planning (EVT/DVT/PVT) for multiple concurrent programs, ensuring manufacturability and repeatability.
- Make high-stakes design trade-offs balancing performance, cost, power, and integration complexity.
- Mentor and provide technical direction to hardware engineers; represent hardware in cross-functional technical reviews.
- Drive supplier and component strategy for critical analog parts; engage directly with vendors and foundries.
- Present technical deep-dives to customers, partners, and investors when required.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and leadership experience required for immediate contribution.
- 10+ years of hands-on hardware development with end-to-end ownership of shipped, high-volume systems.
- Proven track record setting technical direction for a team or product line.
- Recognized expertise in low-noise analog and high-speed digital design; authority on SI/PI and EMI mitigation.
- Experience driving designs through DFM, reliability testing, and yield optimization.
- Expertise in schematic capture and simulation (SPICE) and PCB design tools such as Altium or similar.
- Advanced use of SI/PI simulation tools (e.g., HyperLynx, SiWave) and RF/measurement equipment (GHz-range oscilloscopes, VNAs, spectrum analyzers).
- Extensive experience integrating FPGAs, microcontrollers, and custom analog ASICs at the board level.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience in photonics, LiDAR, or precision-sensing hardware.
- Experience building or scaling hardware teams or serving as a technical lead/architect.
- Knowledge of flex and rigid-flex PCB design, Verilog-AMS, mixed-signal modeling, or FPGA development.
- Experience designing for high-reliability or harsh environments (automotive, aerospace, defense).
