Senior Electrical Engineer

Role Summary

Senior Electrical Engineer responsible for designing, developing, and verifying electrical and electromechanical systems used in semiconductor capital equipment. Work covers power distribution, high-voltage systems, control systems, vacuum/robotics interfaces, safety interlocks, and electro-static chuck technologies.

This is an individual-contributor role that interfaces with design services, offshore teams, vendors, and cross-functional groups to deliver safe, reliable designs that meet industry (SEMI) and customer requirements.

Experience Level

Senior-level. The posting specifies a minimum of 5 years of electrical/electronic hardware design experience and expects leadership in technical design reviews and project execution.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include engineering design, verification, and cross-team coordination:

  • Design and evaluate electronic parts, components, PCBs, and integrated circuitry for equipment systems.
  • Develop electromechanical systems such as power distribution, high-voltage, control systems, vacuum systems, robotics, safety interlocks, and electro-static chuck technologies.
  • Plan requirements, schedule estimates, concept and design reviews, and verification/validation test plans; ensure adherence to the development process.
  • Provide electrical engineering interface to design services and offshore teams; coordinate vendor capability reviews as needed.
  • Analyze equipment to establish operating data, run experimental tests, and evaluate results to meet design objectives and safety/industry standards.
  • Select components and equipment based on specification and reliability analysis.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of electrical/electronic hardware design experience as an individual contributor.
  • Experience in one or more of: systems engineering, high-voltage, RF power, PCB design, or power distribution.
  • Proficiency with PCB and circuit design tools: Altium, PADS, PSpice.
  • Experience conducting technical design reviews and working with formal engineering change processes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with Creo Schematic, Creo Cabling, AutoCAD, and Windchill.
  • Semiconductor capital equipment experience.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required.
