Senior DSP Communication Engineer
Role Summary
Develop and architect DSP algorithms and system-level solutions for very high-speed wireline communication links used in NVIDIA products. Work within the communications/DSP team to deliver production-grade designs across current and future silicon generations.
The role involves system definition, algorithm development, and cross-functional collaboration with VLSI and analog/RF engineers to meet product requirements and performance targets.
Experience Level
Senior — requires 5+ years of professional experience in DSP and communications.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include architecture, algorithm development, verification, and cross-team integration of high-speed communication solutions.
- Architect and design very high-speed wireline links and related DSP subsystems.
- Collaborate with peer engineers to ensure product requirements and objectives are met.
- Develop DSP architecture for future chips and enhance functionality of shipping products.
- Define key technical requirements and deliver systems that meet performance targets.
- Implement and validate algorithms using simulation and analysis tools.
- Communicate design tradeoffs and results within a dynamic, matrixed organization.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- 5+ years of experience in DSP and communications engineering.
- Practical experience with DSP communication projects.
- Strong MATLAB development skills for algorithm implementation and verification.
- Proven track record of system definition and algorithm development.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Software development skills in C, C++, or Python.
- Experience collaborating with VLSI teams.
- Experience collaborating with analog/RF teams.
Education Requirements
BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering.
