Senior Director, SoC Architecture - AI Accelerators
Role Summary
Lead rack-scale systems architecture and execution for data-center AI platforms, coordinating silicon, hardware, firmware, software, and customer engineering to deliver scalable, production-ready infrastructure.
The role reports into Qualcomm’s Data Center organization and focuses on platform direction, cross-functional alignment, and customer-facing technical leadership for rack-level solutions.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Minimum experience guidance varies by degree: typically 10+ years (Bachelor's), 9+ years (Master's), or 8+ years (PhD) in ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related systems work.
Responsibilities
Accountable for rack-scale architecture, platform standards, and execution from concept to customer deployment.
- Define and own rack-scale architecture across compute, networking, power, cooling, and system integration.
- Establish rack-level designs and platform standards aligned with OCP and industry practices.
- Drive hardware–software co-design, including firmware, telemetry, observability, and rack management.
- Lead platform execution through validation, production readiness, and customer deployment.
- Partner with hyperscalers, OEMs/ODMs, and ecosystem providers to scale adoption.
- Set program KPIs, technical reviews, and operating cadence to ensure predictable delivery.
- Ensure systems meet reliability, scalability, manufacturability, and TCO targets.
- Promote engineering discipline, accountability, and execution rigor across complex systems programs.

- Must-have: Significant experience in ASIC/system integration, platform architecture, or systems engineering with proven delivery of rack-scale or server platforms.
- Must-have: Cross-functional leadership across silicon, hardware, firmware, software, operations, and customer engineering teams.
- Must-have: Experience driving hardware–software co-design, telemetry/observability, and rack management.
- Must-have: Track record engaging with hyperscalers, OEMs/ODMs, or ecosystem partners and influencing adoption at scale.
- Must-have: Program management skills: defining KPIs, running technical reviews, and ensuring production readiness.
- Nice-to-have: Familiarity with CXL, composable infrastructure, advanced interconnects, and OCP-aligned designs.
- Nice-to-have: Experience supervising teams, interacting with executive leadership, and managing operating budgets or project financials.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field with 10+ years of relevant experience; OR Master's degree in Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field with 9+ years; OR PhD in Science, Engineering, or related field with 8+ years.
