Role Summary
Senior executive responsible for defining and executing regional OSAT commercial strategy across Greater China, Taiwan, Southeast Asia and India. Leads partner selection, pricing architecture, capacity commitments, contract governance, and a regional commercial team.
Reports through senior leadership and manages two Director-level direct reports covering Greater China and Southeast Asia & India.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Requires extensive senior management experience — posting requests a minimum of 15+ years in semiconductor back-end/OSAT, with at least 8+ years in senior management roles.
Responsibilities
Accountable for regional OSAT commercial outcomes, partner relationships, pricing, capacity assurance, contract governance, and building a capable regional team.
- Define and execute multi-year OSAT commercial strategy, partner segmentation, and geographic diversification.
- Serve as executive relationship owner for strategic OSAT partners; lead business reviews and executive alignment.
- Establish and defend assembly & test pricing architecture; lead major commercial negotiations and multi-year price agreements.
- Develop and drive cost-reduction and should-cost roadmaps; partner with Finance on forecasting and margin impact.
- Secure and govern committed capacity entitlements; manage escalations during capacity shortfalls or surges.
- Build dual-source and cross-qualification frameworks to preserve supply optionality and business continuity plans for regional risks.
- Lead, develop, and hold accountable two Director-level reports; establish succession and capability-building programs.
- Own regional contract portfolio and governance standards in partnership with Legal; ensure compliance with trade and responsible sourcing requirements.
- Define regional OSAT performance scorecard and drive continuous improvement in commercial processes, tools, and benchmarking.
Requirements
Must-have technical and commercial qualifications, plus leadership and regional experience.
- Minimum 15+ years progressive experience in semiconductor back-end, OSAT management, procurement, or supply chain, with at least 8+ years in senior management.
- Proven ownership of large-scale OSAT commercial relationships, multi-million-dollar annual spend, and multi-year agreements.
- Direct working experience with OSAT partners in two or more of China, Taiwan, Malaysia, and India; established senior-level relationships in the Asian OSAT ecosystem.
- Executive negotiation capability with a record of delivering material cost reduction while maintaining strategic partner relationships.
- Strong financial acumen: should-cost modeling, TCO analysis, margin bridge construction, and currency exposure management.
- Deep knowledge of assembly and test cost structures, package technologies (wire bond, flip chip, WLCSP, SiP, advanced substrate), and test economics.
- Comprehensive understanding of cross-border trade, tariffs, export controls, and geopolitical dynamics affecting semiconductor supply chains in Greater China, ASEAN, and India.
- Proven cross-cultural leadership, stakeholder influence across Finance, Legal, Quality, Planning, and Product Line organizations, and ability to make consequential decisions under uncertainty.
- Business-level English required; Mandarin and/or Bahasa Malaysia advantageous.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field required. Master’s degree or MBA highly preferred. Professional certifications such as CPSM or CSCP are preferred. (Degrees and certifications explicitly required/preferred in the source.)
