Role Summary

Lead a software IP engineering organization accountable for development, integration, and delivery of software and FPGA IP solutions for next-generation FPGA platforms. The role drives technical strategy, architecture, and execution across software, embedded systems, networking, security, DSP, and AI acceleration domains.

Experience Level

Senior β€” executive engineering leader. The posting requires 15+ years of technical experience and 8+ years of engineering leadership managing large, distributed teams.

Responsibilities

Deliver organizational leadership, technical direction, and high-quality software IP products.

  • Lead, grow, and develop managers, technical leads, and individual contributors across geographically distributed teams.
  • Define organizational objectives, technical strategy, hiring plans, and execution priorities aligned to business goals.
  • Own roadmaps and delivery of reusable, scalable software IP, libraries, frameworks, SDKs, drivers, and platform technologies.
  • Drive architecture reviews, development best practices, CI/CD, automation, and validation methodologies to improve quality and productivity.
  • Partner with Product Management, FPGA architecture, silicon engineering, validation, and customer engineering to align solutions with customer needs and market opportunities.
  • Represent the organization in executive reviews, customer engagements, and product planning; build partnerships with strategic customers and partners.
  • Establish metrics for software quality, customer adoption, engineering efficiency, and business impact; manage schedules and resource planning.

Requirements

Must-have technical and leadership qualifications.

  • 15+ years of experience in software engineering, FPGA development, semiconductor technologies, or related technical domains.
  • 8+ years managing large, geographically distributed engineering organizations.
  • Proven experience delivering complex software products, platforms, or IP at scale (platforms, frameworks, middleware, SDKs, drivers).
  • Deep understanding of FPGA technologies, embedded systems, and hardware/software co-design principles.
  • Experience leading cross-functional programs spanning hardware, software, and product teams.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and executive leadership skills with a track record of building and scaling teams.
  • Experience driving engineering productivity through automation, CI/CD, and modern software practices.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience developing FPGA IP, device drivers, firmware, or acceleration frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Quartus, FPGA design flows, RTL development, and verification methodologies.
  • Background in AI/ML acceleration, networking, DSP, data center technologies, or embedded systems.
  • Semiconductor industry experience (FPGA, ASIC, EDA) and experience building software ecosystems for customers and developers.

Education Requirements

Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. "Related field" or equivalent practical experience is acceptable per the posting.
