Senior Digital Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Senior verification engineer joining the Catania team to develop verification environments and validate digital designs for microcontroller and edge-processing products. The role focuses on implementing verification plans, driving simulation and debug, and collaborating with design, architecture, DfT and physical-design teams throughout product development.

Experience Level

Senior — typically 5+ years of experience in digital IC design verification.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

• Develop and implement verification environments and testbenches using UVM/SystemVerilog.
• Create detailed verification plans from specifications and identify corner cases.
• Develop, execute and debug test cases; analyze simulation results and identify discrepancies.
• Work closely with design engineers to investigate and resolve issues.
• Develop and maintain assertions, functional coverage models and verification scripts.
• Participate in verification reviews and contribute to methodology improvements.
• Collaborate with design, architecture and software teams across the product lifecycle.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

• Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in digital IC design verification.
• Strong proficiency in SystemVerilog and UVM.
• Experience with industry-standard simulators (e.g., Questa, VCS, Xcelium).
• Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Perl or Tcl.
• Solid understanding of digital design principles and architectures.
• Familiarity with metric-driven verification and assertion-based verification.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.

Education Requirements

Master's degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field (as stated). No alternative-equivalent-experience language was provided.
