Job Title

Senior Digital Test Engineer

Role Summary

Design and implement digital test solutions to support new product introduction (silicon validation and characterization) and manufacturing enablement for Qualcomm SoC products. Work within Product and Test Engineering and collaborate with design, packaging, and manufacturing teams.

Specialization opportunities include IP testing, DFT/DFM, AI/ML for automated test equipment (ATE), and photonic/optical subsystem testing.

Experience Level

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include developing and executing test strategies for digital silicon and enabling manufacturing test flows.

  • Create and maintain ATE test programs and bench tests for digital IP, processors, memory, and high‑speed IO.
  • Perform silicon validation, characterization, diagnostics, yield analysis and test‑time optimization.
  • Work with design, DFT, packaging, thermal, and manufacturing teams to resolve issues and enable production.
  • Use laboratory and production test equipment and apply signal‑integrity principles to validate designs.
  • Contribute to automation, data analysis, and AI/ML‑driven test improvements.

Requirements

Core technical skills and practical experience required or preferred.

Must-have

  • Proficiency with Python, Java, and Linux.
  • Hands‑on experience with oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers and network analyzers.
  • Knowledge of signal integrity and transmission line theory.
  • 3+ years of hardware engineering or related work experience.

Nice-to-have

  • Experience with Advantest 93K or Teradyne UFlex/IFlex ATE systems.
  • FPGA programming and embedded software experience for optical subsystem prototyping.
  • Familiarity with active/passive photonic devices and optical communication metrics (OSNR, receiver sensitivity, optical modulation index).
  • Industrial experience supporting high‑volume semiconductor or EIC/PIC production.
  • Strong analytical, diagnostic and organizational skills.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Optics/Photonics or a related field is stated. Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering or Optics is preferred. Alternate qualification language provided: Bachelor's + 2+ years' relevant experience, Master's + 1+ year, or PhD (experience requirement waived).
