Senior Digital/RTL IC Design Engineer
Role Summary
Develop RTL and digital controller logic for high-performance analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog converters. Work across architecture, verification, behavioral modeling, synthesis support, timing closure and place-and-route interaction for mixed-signal data converters in advanced CMOS technologies.
Experience Level
Senior β typically requires 5+ years of experience in high-performance digital or mixed-signal IC development.
Responsibilities
Accountable for delivering RTL, verification, and implementation support for digital datapath and control logic.
- Design and implement Verilog/SystemVerilog RTL (state machines, adders, multipliers, combinational logic).
- Develop behavioral models (including wreal) for mixed-signal interactions.
- Create and maintain thorough testbenches and verification environments.
- Support synthesis, static timing analysis and timing-closure activities.
- Coordinate with place-and-route teams and assist in P&R flow integration.
- Generate and validate scan chain vectors.
- Automate flows and tools using shell scripts, Makefiles, Python, or similar.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- Strong foundation in digital design for complex ASICs and mixed-signal control loops.
- Proficient in Verilog and SystemVerilog for RTL design.
- Experience with synthesis flows at nanometer-scale CMOS.
- Deep understanding of timing constraints, multiple clock domains and clock gating.
- Experience with place-and-route flow interfaces and timing-closure activities.
- Experience with scan chain vector generation and verification.
- Experience in flow automation and scripting (shell, Makefile, Python).
Nice-to-have:
- Familiarity with Cadence tools (Genus, Tempus, Modus) and Innovus/Encounter P&R tools.
- Knowledge of SystemVerilog assertions.
- Familiarity with MATLAB and DSP concepts.
Education Requirements
BS/BE/MS/MTech preferred plus 5+ years of relevant experience in high-performance digital or mixed-signal IC development in advanced CMOS processes, or equivalent practical experience.
