Job Title
Senior Digital IP Verification Engineer (f/m/d)
Role Summary
Join the Munich MCU/MPU Digital IP verification team to verify digital IP blocks and subsystems used in automotive microprocessors, application processors and microcontrollers. The role focuses on pre‑silicon verification across AI/ML processing blocks, RISC‑V cores and other interface/DSP subsystems.
The position requires close collaboration with hardware, firmware, software and system engineering teams to deliver high‑quality, production‑ready IP.
Experience Level
Senior — minimum 5 years of experience in IP or subsystem verification.
Responsibilities
Accountable for designing and executing verification activities to ensure functional correctness and coverage closure of digital IP.
- Perform pre‑silicon verification of AI/ML blocks, RISC‑V processors, or similar digital IP.
- Define and maintain comprehensive IP verification plans from requirements, architecture, and design specs.
- Architect, develop, debug, and maintain UVM‑based verification environments for RTL simulation.
- Develop testcases, including directed and constrained‑random stimulus and assertion‑based checks.
- Run simulations and regressions across RTL, power‑aware RTL, gate‑level, FPGA, and emulation platforms.
- Execute regressions, analyze results, and drive closure of functional and code coverage.
- Identify issues, debug failures, and collaborate with designers to resolve functional bugs.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of verification methodologies and flows.
Requirements
Must‑have technical skills and practical verification experience.
- Minimum 5 years of IP or subsystem verification experience.
- Solid understanding of microprocessor architecture, interconnects, and cache coherency.
- Hands‑on CPU verification experience (proprietary cores, RISC‑V, or AI/ML accelerators).
- Strong experience developing testbenches using UVM for IP, subsystem, or SoC verification.
- Familiarity with AMBA protocols (AHB, AXI, ACE, CHI) and memory systems (ROM, RAM, Flash, DDR/LPDDR).
- Advanced knowledge of Verilog, SystemVerilog, and C/C++.
- Proficiency in scripting (Python, Perl, TCL, Shell) to automate flows and analysis.
- Experience with metric‑driven verification: functional and code coverage, directed and constrained‑random methodologies.
- Working knowledge of formal verification techniques and assertion‑based verification.
- Experience debugging designs in simulation/emulation and post‑silicon environments.
- Strong analytical skills and excellent written/verbal English communication.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience using AI‑based tools to enhance development and verification efficiency.
- Basic conversational German.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
