Senior Digital IP Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Perform pre-silicon verification of digital IP and subsystems (AI/ML blocks, RISC-V processors, etc.) for MCU/MPU products. Collaborate with hardware, firmware, software, architecture, and system teams to ensure delivery of high-quality, production-ready IP.
Experience Level
Senior β minimum 5 years of IP or subsystem verification experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Define and execute comprehensive IP verification plans from requirements and architecture.
- Architect, develop, debug, and maintain UVM-based verification environments and testcases for RTL simulation.
- Run simulations and regressions across RTL, power-aware RTL, gate-level, FPGA, and emulation platforms; analyze results and drive coverage closure.
- Identify and debug issues; coordinate with design, firmware, and software teams for resolution.
- Develop stimulus generation and assertion-based verification capabilities.
- Integrate AI-based tools to improve development and verification efficiency.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of verification methodologies, flows, and toolchains.
- Perform security-related verification tasks as required for certification scope.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- Minimum 5 years of IP or subsystem verification experience.
- Strong understanding of microprocessor architecture, interconnects, and cache coherency mechanisms.
- Hands-on CPU verification experience (proprietary cores, RISC-V, or AI/ML accelerators).
- Expertise in UVM and testbench development for IP/subsystem/SoC verification.
- Advanced knowledge of Verilog, SystemVerilog, and C/C++.
- Experience with AMBA protocols (AHB, AXI, ACE, CHI) and memory systems (ROM, RAM, Flash, DDR/LPDDR).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Perl, TCL, Shell).
- Experience with metric-driven verification (functional and code coverage), and with directed and constrained-random methodologies.
- Working knowledge of formal verification techniques and assertion-based verification.
- Experience debugging in pre-silicon (simulation/emulation) and post-silicon environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Nice-to-have:
- Basic conversational German.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
