Job Title
Senior Digital Hardware Design Engineer
Role Summary
Join E-Space's hardware engineering team to design, develop and deliver complex digital hardware for high-performance satellite and ground products. The role covers RTL development, verification, board-level bring-up and collaboration with firmware, software, systems and manufacturing teams.
E-Space builds LEO systems to provide global IoT connectivity; this role supports that engineering effort.
Experience Level
Senior. Preferably 5+ years experience in high-speed digital design and RTL development.
Responsibilities
The role owns digital hardware designs from concept through production and supports verification and manufacturing handoff.
- Design and implement digital hardware: high-speed interfaces, signal processing, switching and routing architectures.
- Develop, simulate and verify RTL; ensure functional correctness and timing closure.
- Perform static timing analysis, synthesis and target implementations for FPGAs and/or ASICs.
- Define and review hardware architectures and system-level trade-offs.
- Produce design documentation: specifications, schematics and test plans.
- Support lab bring-up, board-level debugging and hardware validation activities.
- Collaborate with firmware, software, systems and manufacturing teams for integration and design-for-manufacture.
- Contribute to design reviews, code reviews and continuous improvement of engineering processes.
- Apply design principles for reliable operation in harsh environments.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Strong digital design fundamentals: clocking strategies, CDC, reset architecture and timing constraints.
- Experience with FPGA design flows (Vivado, Quartus or equivalent).
- Familiarity with simulation tools (ModelSim, Questa or similar).
- Experience writing/executing hardware test plans and board-level debugging with oscilloscopes, logic analysers and protocol analysers.
- Strong understanding of high-speed PCB design considerations and signal integrity.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with Altium Designer and HyperLynx.
- Accelerated life testing and design for high-volume manufacture.
- Experience with ASIC flows and component lifecycle management.
- Five or more years of hands-on high-speed digital design experience.
Education Requirements
Degree (BEng/MEng/BSc or equivalent) in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related discipline β or equivalent practical experience.
