Job Title

Senior Digital Design Engineer

Role Summary

Drive end-to-end RTL-to-GDSII physical implementation for complex mixed-signal and digital ASIC designs. Work within the physical design team to deliver place-and-route, timing closure, verification sign-off, and low-power implementations while improving flows and automation.

Experience Level

Senior β€” requires 7+ years of production-level physical design (RTL2GDSII) experience on complex tape-outs.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include full-chip implementation, sign-off analysis, design changes, verification, and automation.

  • Own full RTL-to-GDSII flow: synthesis, linting, floorplanning, place-and-route, clock tree synthesis, and timing/SI/power closure.
  • Generate and implement functional and timing ECOs late in the cycle.
  • Perform sign-off analyses: LEC, parasitic extraction, STA, power, EM, and IR-drop checks.
  • Lead Physical Design Verification workflows to achieve DRC/LVS/ERC clean layouts.
  • Implement UPF-driven low-power architectures and conduct in-rush current and low-power verification.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts and flows (TCL, Perl, Shell, Python); evaluate EDA tools and explore AI methods to accelerate design.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and constraints for the role.

  • 7+ years of production-level physical design implementation experience on complex tape-outs using industry EDA tools.
  • Proven expertise across synthesis, CDC/RDC, linting, P&R, LEC, timing, SI, and power closure; strong ECO implementation skills.
  • Hands-on experience with UPF-driven low-power methodologies and low-power verification.
  • Proficiency in scripting for flow automation: Python, TCL, Perl, and Shell.
  • Good knowledge of DFT concepts.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%.
  • Shift: 1st Shift / Days.
  • Note: Some positions may require export license review; non-U.S. citizens may be subject to eligibility screening for access to technical data.

Education Requirements

Master's or Bachelor's degree (ME/MTech/ME/BE/BTech) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
