Senior Digital Design Engineer
Role Summary
Responsible for RTL and FPGA design and verification of modules for the next-generation digital architecture within the Wireless group. The role spans FPGA bring-up, silicon validation, and close collaboration with architecture, physical design, and cross-functional teams to deliver production-ready IP for automotive and space applications.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Typical candidate has 4+ years of RTL design and verification experience targeting silicon.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include implementation, verification, and validation activities across FPGA and silicon platforms.
- Collaborate with architecture, physical design, and system teams to implement digital blocks.
- Analyze performance, power, and area tradeoffs and select optimal implementations.
- Define and implement test strategies and BIST features.
- Implement, verify, and validate designs on FPGA platforms.
- Lead silicon design verification and bring-up efforts after FPGA validation.
- Generate test vectors and support verification activities.
- Monitor industry trends and contribute to roadmap and architectural decisions.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for immediate contribution.
Must-have:
- Minimum 4+ years of RTL design and verification experience for silicon.
- Experience with one or more high-speed interface protocols: USB 3.0, DisplayPort, PCIe, or SATA.
- Proven expertise in Verilog/SystemVerilog and UVM-based verification.
- Experience with C/C++ and SystemC for modeling/verification.
- Scripting experience (Perl, Python) for test automation and tool flows.
- Hands-on FPGA implementation and verification experience.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to produce technical documentation.
- Effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills; self-motivated.
Nice-to-have:
- Domain knowledge in wireless, mobile, automotive, space, or storage systems.
- Experience implementing BIST and silicon bring-up procedures.
- Prior leadership or technical coordination on multi-team verification projects.
Education Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) required; Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) preferred.
