Senior Digital Design Engineer
NVIDIAJob Title
Senior Digital Design Engineer
Role Summary
Join the Semi-Custom Silicon products group to design and implement NVLink Fusion-based AI infrastructure SoC blocks. The role focuses on micro-architecture, RTL implementation, and delivery of high-performance, area- and power-efficient datapath and protocol blocks for rack-scale AI connectivity.
Experience Level
Senior - typically requires 12+ years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Deliver RTL blocks from micro-architecture through synthesis and timing closure while collaborating across disciplines.
- Analyze architectural requirements and perform trade-off studies for implementation.
- Specify micro-architecture and implement high-quality RTL for datapath and protocol blocks.
- Deliver fully verified blocks that are synthesis- and timing-clean.
- Collaborate with chip architects, verification and formal teams, and SoC integration engineers to meet delivery goals.
- Identify, evaluate, customize, and integrate third-party IP when appropriate.
Requirements
Key qualifications and technical capabilities required for immediate contribution.
- Must-have: 12+ years of relevant ASIC or chip-design experience.
- Experience with high-speed connectivity protocols (examples: NVLink, PCIe, Ethernet, UCIE).
- Proven delivery of high-bandwidth datapath blocks (data movers, protocol adapters, NoC, arbiters, schedulers).
- Strong RTL design skills and experience producing synthesis- and timing-clean implementations.
- Deep understanding of ASIC design flows, synthesis, static timing analysis, and signoff methodology.
- Track record of cross-functional collaboration with verification, formal, and integration teams.
- Strong analytical skills and effective interpersonal/teaming abilities.
- Nice-to-have: Prior experience with rack-scale AI interconnects or NVLink Fusion-related technology.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
