Senior Digital Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design and verify digital logic for mixed-signal SoCs within the Data Center & Energy group in Limerick, delivering RTL, verification, integration, and silicon bring-up work for high-reliability power and connectivity solutions.

The role works cross-functionally with analog, firmware, validation and lab teams to ensure functional correctness, timing closure, manufacturability and correlation between simulation and silicon.

Experience Level

Senior-level. The team expects 4+ years of ASIC/SoC digital design experience.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include RTL development, verification, and on-silicon debug for mixed-signal SoCs.

• Develop and verify RTL for digital blocks and subsystems; ensure functional correctness and timing closure.
• Perform synthesis and static timing analysis; support DFT insertion and pattern generation.
• Integrate digital content with analog, firmware, and validation teams for mixed-signal SoCs.
• Assist with silicon bring-up, lab measurements, and debug; correlate silicon behavior to simulations.
• Support design-for-test strategies and lab validation activities.
• Contribute to methodology improvements and automation initiatives.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.

• Must-have: 4+ years ASIC/SoC digital design experience.
• Proficiency in Verilog/SystemVerilog and scripting (Python, C).
• Familiarity with RTL-to-GDS flows and common EDA tools (synthesis, place & route, STA, formal).
• Understanding of DFT concepts and basic test strategies.
• Working knowledge of analog circuit operation and practical lab measurement practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills, organized, able to work independently with minimal supervision; good written and verbal communication.
• Willingness to travel for work (approximately 10% of the time).
• Nice-to-have: FPGA prototyping and system-level modeling experience; familiarity with power system components and common interfaces/bus protocols (AMBA, I2C, SPI); interest in methodology and automation.

Education Requirements

Minimum: BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering (or equivalent practical experience). Preferred: MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering (or equivalent). The posting explicitly allows equivalent practical experience in lieu of degree.
