RTL Design Jobs, Level - Senior

Job Title

Senior Digital Design Engineer

Role Summary

Lead digital architecture, design, verification, and implementation of next-generation Power Management ICs (PMICs) for automotive and industrial applications. Drive product execution from concept through RTL development, integration, silicon validation, qualification, and production release while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Experience Level

Senior-level; minimum 10 years of experience in digital IC design and development with technical leadership and architecture responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Accountable for end-to-end digital design and delivery of mixed-signal PMICs. Key responsibilities include:

  • Review product requirements and define digital architecture, microarchitecture, interfaces, and implementation plans.
  • Develop RTL using Verilog/SystemVerilog and produce design specifications and verification collateral.
  • Lead synthesis, static timing analysis, timing closure, low-power implementation, and physical implementation flows.
  • Drive verification strategy and execution: simulation, UVM, assertions, formal verification, coverage analysis, and regression management.
  • Design digital control, monitoring, telemetry, diagnostics, protection, power sequencing, and fault management functions.
  • Support silicon bring-up, debug, characterization, qualification, reliability validation, and production ramp activities.
  • Track development metrics, maintain requirements traceability, and ensure compliance with quality and maturity standards.
  • Mentor junior engineers and improve design methodologies, automation flows, and engineering best practices.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • Minimum 10 years experience in digital IC design and development with demonstrated technical leadership.
  • Strong understanding of digital design fundamentals: finite-state machines, clock-domain crossing, reset architectures, and low-power techniques.
  • Expertise in RTL design using Verilog/SystemVerilog for complex digital and mixed-signal ICs.
  • Experience with synthesis, static timing analysis, equivalence checking, DFT, and physical implementation flows.
  • Proven knowledge of modern verification methodologies (UVM, assertions, formal verification, coverage-driven verification).
  • Proficiency with industry-standard EDA tools (Cadence, Synopsys, Siemens EDA).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and effective written and verbal communication; ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Nice-to-have: experience developing digital controllers for PMICs, power management systems, or automotive/industrial electronics.

Education Requirements

M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field required.
