Senior Digital Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design and deliver digital IP used in SoCs, including controllers, high-speed links, cores, and interconnect. Responsible for RTL implementation, documentation, verification collaboration, and supporting integration and silicon validation.
Experience Level
Senior - minimum 4 years of experience in IP or SoC design.
Responsibilities
Deliver production-quality digital IP by implementing RTL, collaborating with verification and architecture teams, and ensuring requirements are met on schedule.
- Review architecture, programming model, microarchitecture, and interface specifications.
- Plan design and documentation; provide schedule assessments and track milestones and metrics.
- Implement RTL using Verilog/SystemVerilog and apply vendor/internal checking tools.
- Collaborate with verification to create test plans and drive verification to required coverage.
- Perform design quality checks and resolve issues prior to silicon (lint, CDC analysis, STA).
- Support integration, emulation, silicon validation, and customer issue analysis.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- Minimum 4 years of IP or SoC design experience.
- Knowledge of SoC architecture.
- Expert-level Verilog skills.
- Experience with lint, clock-domain crossing analysis, and static timing analysis.
- Ability to produce design documentation and trace requirements versus implementation.
- Strong collaboration skills with verification, architecture, and system teams.
Nice-to-have:
- ARM AMBA bus protocol experience.
- Functional safety knowledge (ISO 26262).
- CPU or cache architecture experience.
- C programming and scripting (Perl, Python).
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree (BSEE, BSCE, or BSCS) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science is required by the posting.
