Senior Digital Design Engineer
NXP SemiconductorsJob Title
Senior Digital Design Engineer
Role Summary
Join the NXP Caen digital design team focusing on automotive System-on-Chips (SoCs) and IP blocks. The role delivers RTL implementation, verification, and integration of digital blocks to meet performance, area, and power targets.
Experience Level
Senior β typically a candidate with substantial ASIC/SoC digital design experience. (No explicit years provided in source.)
Responsibilities
The role covers end-to-end digital design and verification tasks within a cross-functional SoC development team.
- Develop and implement digital logic for complex SoCs and IP blocks per architecture and performance requirements.
- Write RTL in Verilog/SystemVerilog and maintain design code.
- Create testbenches, run simulations, and debug functional issues to ensure coverage and correctness.
- Collaborate with architects, analog designers, and software teams to define interfaces and integrate blocks.
- Participate in synthesis, static timing analysis (STA), and formal verification to meet timing, area, and power goals.
- Implement and verify design-for-testability (DFT) features.
- Produce design documentation and take part in design reviews.
- Troubleshoot design issues across the development lifecycle and keep current with industry tools and methods.
Requirements
Key technical and interpersonal requirements. Items marked as desirable are not strictly required.
- Proven experience in digital ASIC/SoC design and familiarity with the full digital design flow (must-have).
- Proficiency in Verilog or SystemVerilog for RTL coding (must-have).
- Experience with industry-standard EDA tools for simulation, synthesis, STA, and formal verification (must-have).
- Strong understanding of digital design fundamentals including clocking, reset, and low-power techniques (must-have).
- Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Perl, Tcl) (nice-to-have).
- Knowledge of communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, PCIe, Ethernet (highly desirable).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills; fluency in English (required).
