Job Title
Senior Digital Design
Role Summary
Lead digital IC design activities for MCU System-on-Chip (SoC) development in the Catania engineering team focused on AI-at-the-edge solutions. Responsible for delivering RTL through post-silicon validation and collaborating with analog, mixed-signal, and software teams to ensure integration and product performance.
Experience Level
Senior β minimum 5+ years of experience in digital IC design.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include executing the digital design flow, verifying designs, and supporting integration and validation.
- Lead the full digital IC design flow: specification, architectural design, RTL implementation (Verilog/SystemVerilog), synthesis, static timing analysis (STA), and power analysis.
- Implement and verify design-for-testability (DFT) features and participate in post-silicon validation and debug.
- Perform design verification using simulation, formal verification, and hardware emulation.
- Collaborate with analog, mixed-signal, and software teams to define interfaces and optimize system performance.
- Develop digital architectures and methods to meet performance, power, and area targets.
- Mentor junior engineers and lead technical design reviews and documentation.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for successful performance in this role.
- Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience in digital IC design.
- Proficient in RTL design and verification using Verilog/SystemVerilog.
- Experience with industry-standard EDA tools for synthesis, STA (for example, Synopsys Design Compiler, Cadence Genus, PrimeTime), formal verification, and simulation (for example, VCS, QuestaSim).
- Strong understanding of digital design principles, clock domain crossing (CDC) issues, power integrity, and low-power design techniques.
- Experience with scripting for automation and flow optimization (Python, Perl, Tcl or similar).
- Familiarity with mixed-signal integration challenges and verification methodologies.
- Demonstrated problem-solving, debugging, communication, and collaboration skills; ability to lead technical discussions.
Education Requirements
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
