Job Title
Senior DFT Engineer - Hardware
Role Summary
Lead design, verification and productization of design-for-test (DFT) and DFX features for high-speed IOs on NVIDIA SoCs. Work across pre-silicon and post-silicon phases to architect test logic, develop scalable test plans, and coordinate with IP, mixed-signal, validation and production teams.
The team focuses on IO/interconnect testability, automation and flow improvements to ensure manufacturable, cost-efficient test solutions.
Experience Level
Senior β typically 5+ years of relevant DFT and verification experience.
Responsibilities
Deliver DFT/DFX test features from design through production and maintain robust verification and productization.
- Architect, design and validate DFX/DFT features for high-speed IOs at unit and full-chip levels using UVM and internal flows.
- Develop pre-silicon simulations, debug test functionality, and sign off on test coverage using standard coverage metrics.
- Create scalable test plans and productize IO test solutions for production test execution and cost efficiency.
- Implement automation, improve flows, manage coverage metrics, and support test execution and failure analysis.
- Collaborate with IP teams on IOBIST test logic and with mixed-signal circuit designers to integrate analog/digital test approaches.
- Coordinate with post-silicon validation and production engineering to deploy and refine tests in manufacturing.
Requirements
Required technical skills and attributes, plus desirable additional skills.
Must-have:
- Proven experience in DFT engineering and post-silicon DFX productization.
- Strong understanding of digital logic design, architecture and verification methodologies.
- Practical experience with verification flows (UVM, constrained-random testing), coverage-driven verification and coverage metrics.
- Strong scripting/programming skills (e.g., SystemVerilog, Perl, Python) and familiarity with industry-standard tools and flows.
- Analytical problem-solving skills and effective written and oral communication.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with profiling tools, X-propagation, mixed-signal test challenges, or IO-specific debug.
- Exposure to scalable test automation, flow optimization and productization at manufacturing scale.
Education Requirements
B.Tech/BE/BS or M.Tech/ME/MS in Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
