Job Title
Senior DFT Engineer
Role Summary
Design and implement design-for-test (DFT) solutions for block and SoC level, including scan, MBIST, ATPG, simulations and post-silicon diagnosis. Work with synthesis, STA, physical design and test engineering teams to ensure testability and successful silicon bring-up.
Experience Level
Senior. The role title indicates a senior position; specific years of experience are not provided in the source.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include DFT architecture, implementation, verification and silicon debug.
- Design and implement DFT features: scan insertion, MBIST, ATPG, simulations and post-silicon diagnosis at block and SoC level.
- Verify test patterns using gate-level simulations and coverage analysis.
- Collaborate with Synthesis, STA and physical design teams to debug and resolve DFT-related issues.
- Work with test engineers to port and validate test vectors on silicon and support bring-up activities.
- Perform silicon experiments and analyze data to identify root causes of failures.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and tools; optional items where noted.
- Strong knowledge of DFT methodologies: scan, ATPG, JTAG and MBIST.
- Experience developing DFT specifications and architectures for complex designs.
- Expertise debugging DFT issues, including ATPG pattern failures, MBIST behavior and coverage analysis.
- Proficiency with Siemens-Tessent and Synopsys DFT tools for implementation, vector generation and verification.
- Practical silicon debug experience and ability to collect and analyze failure data.
- Automation and scripting skills, especially TCL, to build flows and automate tasks.
- Nice-to-have: prior experience with SoC-level DFT integration and post-silicon diagnosis workflows.
Education Requirements
Not specified.
