Role Summary

The Senior Design-for-Test (DFT) Engineer will define, implement and validate DFT architectures for complex digital designs to achieve high test coverage and support silicon bring-up. The role works cross-functionally with RTL, Physical Design and STA teams to integrate test features and resolve testability issues.

Experience Level

Senior — typically 7+ years of DFT or digital ASIC test experience.

Responsibilities

The role is accountable for DFT architecture, implementation, verification and silicon test support:

• Define and implement DFT architecture including scan, MBIST and boundary scan.
• Perform scan insertion, chain stitching and compression techniques.
• Generate and analyze ATPG patterns to achieve high fault coverage.
• Debug and resolve DFT-related issues across design and silicon stages.
• Support pattern validation, gate-level simulations and silicon bring-up.
• Collaborate with RTL, Physical Design and STA teams for integration and timing closure.
• Ensure compliance with DFT and testability requirements and standards.

Requirements

Must-have qualifications and skills:

• Proven experience in scan design, ATPG pattern generation and DFT architecture for digital ASICs.
• Hands-on experience with scan insertion, chain stitching and compression flows.
• Experience debugging DFT issues during design verification and silicon bring-up.
• Experience supporting pattern validation and gate-level simulation based verification.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with RTL, Physical Design and STA teams.

Nice-to-have:

• Familiarity with industry DFT tools and automation flows is a plus.
