Role Summary
Join Amazon LEO’s ASIC team responsible for digital system-on-chip designs for Low Earth Orbit satellite communications and gateway equipment. The team defines modems, high-speed interfaces, embedded processors, and DSP solutions in advanced CMOS process nodes.
This role focuses on architecting and implementing DFT solutions across LEO chips, improving IP and DFT methodology, and collaborating with ASIC, RFIC, and test engineering teams to ensure robust bring-up and test flows.
Experience Level
Senior level. Basic qualifications specify 5+ years in advanced DFT techniques; preferred experience is 7+ years including Logic BIST and automation experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include defining and delivering DFT strategies and enabling successful test and bring-up of mixed-signal SoCs.
- Architect and define DFT solutions tailored to LEO chip designs.
- Customize IPs and DFT methodology; adopt AI-assisted flows to improve automation.
- Integrate DFT logic (MBIST, clock control, JTAG controllers) with ASIC teams across sites.
- Collaborate with RFIC engineers to maximize fault coverage on custom RF blocks.
- Ensure blocks meet DFT, timing, and power targets with implementation teams.
- Work with Test Engineering to translate ATE patterns to tester formats and support joint bring-up of digital chip portions.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and constraints follow; preferred items are marked.
- Must have: 5+ years implementing advanced DFT techniques for deep sub-micron nodes, including automated scripts for DFT insertion and validation.
- Must have: Practical experience with MBIST and other structural test insertions and verification.
- Must have: Experience collaborating with implementation and test teams to meet timing, power, and DFT goals.
- Export control requirement: Candidate must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, U.S. permanent resident (Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted as a refugee or granted asylum.
- Preferred: 7+ years DFT experience and exposure to Logic BIST.
- Preferred: Familiarity working with RFIC engineers on large mixed-signal chips.
- Preferred: Experience with automotive-quality standards and achieving single-digit DPPM targets.
- Preferred: Experience developing AI/ML-based automation flows to improve DFT implementation.
Education Requirements
Basic qualification: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Communications Engineering, or equivalent practical experience in electrical engineering. Preferred: Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical / Communications Engineering. Fields mentioned: Electrical and Communications Engineering; equivalent hands-on experience is accepted.
