Job Title

Senior DFT Engineer

Role Summary

Lead design and implementation of silicon test methodologies for NVIDIA next-generation platforms. Work across VLSI, product engineering, and cross-functional teams to plan and execute chip bring-up from pre-silicon through production.

Responsible for developing reusable workflows, mentoring junior engineers, and improving test and debug processes.

Experience Level

Senior β€” typical experience guidance provided in the posting (see Education Requirements for degree-specific years).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include development, planning, and execution of DFT and silicon bring-up activities.

  • Design and deploy test methodologies: scan compression, IO BIST, memory BIST, and test access mechanisms.
  • Own end-to-end chip bring-up planning and execution from pre-silicon to production deployment.
  • Collaborate with VLSI and product teams to define DFT approaches and integrate test logic.
  • Create and standardize checklists, playbooks, and workflows for silicon bring-up and validation.
  • Lead silicon debug and failure analysis; develop test programs and work on pattern formats and failure processing.
  • Mentor junior engineers and improve cross-team handoffs and communication.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • Expertise in scan test planning, ATPG, fault simulation, and fault modeling.
  • Experience with BIST for memories and IOs and test access mechanism implementation.
  • Strong analytical skills for verification and validation of test patterns on complex multi-million-gate designs using vendor tools.
  • Hands-on silicon debug and bring-up experience, including test program development and failure analysis.
  • Strong programming and scripting skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Deep DFT architecture knowledge and direct GPU/SoC bring-up experience.
  • Hands-on lab validation skills (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers) and debug tools.
  • Familiarity with fault metrics (DPPM), RAS, InSystem Test, PVT dependencies, and VF characterization.
  • Proven ability to operate in collaborative, multi-functional environments.

Education Requirements

Posting lists: BSEE (or equivalent practical experience) with 5+ years; MSEE with 3+ years; or PhD in DFT or a related domain. Equivalent practical experience is accepted as an alternative.
