Senior DevOps Engineer
Role Summary
Hands-on engineering role on the HPC Infrastructure team owning the automation platform for VLSI infrastructure that supports NVIDIA's silicon design and AI workloads. The role builds tooling, services and pipelines to convert manual infrastructure tasks into reliable automated services used by design and infrastructure engineers.
Experience Level
Senior - typically requires 8+ years in DevOps, platform, or infrastructure software engineering.
Responsibilities
Deliver and operate automation and developer-facing tooling that reduces manual infrastructure work and is reliable for daily use by engineers.
- Design and build internal services and CLI tooling with attention to interfaces and reliability.
- Implement event-driven automation tied to source control (repository events, workspace and client mapping maintenance).
- Own CI, release, and deployment mechanics for internal tooling; add observability and debugging instrumentation.
- Write production-quality code and run it in production; collaborate with scheduling teams on job submission automation.
- Reduce operational burden on senior engineers by converting recurring manual tasks into automated services.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- 8+ years in DevOps, platform, or infrastructure software engineering.
- Strong software engineering in Python; experience delivering production-quality, tested tooling.
- Hands-on experience automating against source control at scale; Perforce preferred, Git acceptable.
- Solid CI/CD experience (GitLab CI, Jenkins, or equivalent) and container-based packaging/deployment.
- Strong Linux systems knowledge and shell fluency; experience building/operating internal developer platforms.
- Familiarity with batch compute environments and engineering workload submission/tracking/debugging.
- Nice-to-have: semiconductor/EDA or HPC exposure.
Education Requirements
B.E./B.Tech or M.Tech in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
