Senior Development Tools Software Engineer
Role Summary
Build software to automate the build, test, and deployment of Intel's Process Design Kit (PDK). Work within the Design Technology Platform organization to develop DevOps infrastructure that delivers PDKs to silicon product teams.
Collaborate with teams in the United States, Bangalore, and Penang on CI/CD, automation, and deployment tooling.
Experience Level
Senior — typically 7–12 years' software development experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 8–10 years with a Master's degree.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include designing, implementing, and operating automation and CI/CD for PDKs.
- Design and implement build, test, and deployment automation for PDK artifacts.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub and Jenkins.
- Build and maintain test frameworks and automation using pytest.
- Integrate AI tools and develop AI agents/tools to improve workflows.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and improve reliability of DevOps systems and toolchains.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams to deliver tooling.
- Apply Agile software engineering and DevOps practices to deliver iterative improvements.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Expert-level Python programming skills.
- Expert knowledge of pytest concepts and test automation.
- Expert experience with GitHub-based Jenkins CI/CD deployment, enablement, and debugging.
- Proven experience with DevOps principles, CI/CD tooling, and IT environments.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving ability.
- Hands-on experience with AI tools and demonstrated experience building AI agents/tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to present complex issues clearly.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional, distributed teams.
Nice-to-have:
- Exposure to VLSI PDK domain.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field. The posting specifies 7–12 years' experience with a Bachelor's degree or 8–10 years with a Master's degree.
