Senior Development Engineer β Protection and Filtering
Role Summary
Design and develop discrete ESD and TVS protection devices for high-speed, RF-sensitive and automotive applications. Work across device design, simulation, packaging, technology and product qualification within a cross-functional development team based in Hamburg.
This role owns technical concepts and product performance in development projects and contributes to the protection and signal-integrity roadmap.

Responsibilities
Primary technical responsibilities in product development and project leadership.
- Develop next-generation discrete ESD and TVS protection devices targeting high-speed, RF-sensitive and automotive use cases.
- Drive and execute technical work packages across device design, simulation, package, technology, application requirements and product qualifications.
- Act as system architect for development projects: define and own product performance and technical concepts.
- Translate customer and application requirements into technical product requirements for device concept, front-end/back-end technology, package and chip design.
- Perform and drive semiconductor, electromagnetic and SPICE simulations, and system-level ESD analysis.
- Contribute to the technical roadmap for protection, filtering, signal integrity and system-level robustness.
- Collaborate with internal and external technical communities in ESD/TVS protection, RF/SI and EMC.
- Mentor junior engineers and act as a recognized technical expert depending on seniority.
Requirements

- Strong understanding of semiconductor physics, devices and industrial semiconductor product development processes.
- Hands-on experience with TCAD tools and SPICE modeling.
- Knowledge of S-parameters, high-speed applications, and RF/signal-integrity behavior.
- Python programming skills and willingness to apply software and AI-based methods to engineering workflows.
- Strong quality mindset with the ability to balance performance, manufacturability, reliability and production requirements.
- Relevant professional experience in semiconductor product development, ESD/TVS protection, RF/SI, EMC or simulation tools.
- Strong teamwork, ownership mindset, ability to align cross-functional stakeholders and communicate technical solutions clearly.
- Fluency in English and very good verbal and written communication skills; German is a plus.
Nice-to-have: SEED methodology, CST or comparable electromagnetic simulation tools, experience with common-mode filters/chokes, integrated passive devices, and broader RF/passive component experience.
Education Requirements
Master's degree or PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, RF Engineering, High-Speed Electronics, or a comparable field.
