Job Title

Senior Designer, Layout

Role Summary

Design and deliver section- to chip-level IC layouts for power management integrated circuits (PMIC). Collaborate with schematic designers, technical leads, and layout teams to meet analog performance targets and schedules.

Influence design decisions from early definition through silicon evaluation; may lead block layout resources and mentor junior staff.

Experience Level

Senior-level. The posting requests at least 4 years of relevant working experience.

Responsibilities

Major responsibilities include hands-on layout and cross-functional execution:

  • Create section-level and, where required, top/chip-level layouts for PMICs.
  • Translate circuit intent into layout that meets matching, parasitic, IR-drop, and reliability targets.
  • Collaborate with schematic designers, tech leads, verification, and test teams through pre- and post-silicon phases.
  • Drive schedules and high-quality execution; deliver layouts on project timelines.
  • Make trade-off decisions that affect product performance and manufacturability.
  • Allocate and coordinate block-level layout work; provide technical guidance to other layout designers.
  • Mentor new hires or interns and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the layout team.
  • Travel as required (up to approximately 10%).

Requirements

Essential and desirable skills, without repeating formal education listed below.

  • Extensive multi-hierarchical (section-level) IC layout experience; top/chip-level layout is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of semiconductor device physics, cross-sections, and IC construction.
  • Deep understanding of layout principles, IC reliability, and failure mechanisms.
  • Proficiency with Cadence Virtuoso XL; familiarity with Calibre verification tools is an advantage.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills; ability to collaborate with global cross-functional teams.
  • Layout experience in Supervisors (voltage/current monitors), voltage references, LDOs, and DC-DC converters (buck/boost) is a plus.
  • Experience with technology nodes such as 0.18 µm and 90 nm is a plus.

Education Requirements

BS in Electronics or Electrical Engineering. The posting also specifies at least 4 years of relevant working experience.
