Role Summary

Senior Designer, Layout for the Hearables and Wearables Consumer Business Unit. Responsible for independently delivering complex integrated circuit layouts for high-performance edge processing in consumer audio and wearable devices.

Work with cross-functional teams to optimize layouts for performance, power, manufacturability, and timing; act as a technical resource and mentor for less-experienced engineers.

Experience Level

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include design, analysis, and cross-team collaboration:

  • Independently design and implement complex IC layouts for CMOS processes.
  • Handle diverse layout problems requiring in-depth analysis and evaluation.
  • Perform advanced timing extraction and static timing analysis.
  • Evaluate and optimize power usage and manufacturability; assess vendor library/process flows.
  • Contribute to IC architecture decisions and process improvements.
  • Mentor junior engineers and represent the organization on key projects.

Requirements

  • Advanced expertise in IC layout and CMOS technology.
  • Proficiency with static timing analysis, timing extraction, and power analysis.
  • Experience with EDA tools and layout-for-manufacturability practices.
  • Ability to evaluate and optimize designs for performance, power, and yield.
  • Strong verbal and written communication; able to explain complex technical concepts to teams.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision on complex assignments and to mentor others.
  • Business awareness and alignment of technical decisions with business objectives.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% and work standard day shift.

Education Requirements
