Senior Design Verification Engineer - Hardware

Role Summary

The Senior Design Verification Engineer will develop and execute verification plans and testbenches for IP and SoC hardware in the MMPLEX team based in Shanghai. The role focuses on functional verification, coverage analysis, regression infrastructure, and automation to ensure product quality across NVIDIA product lines.

Work spans IP-level verification, SOC full-chip environments, and verification methodology improvement to increase automation and productivity.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include building verification environments, running regressions, and improving verification methodology and infrastructure.

  • Develop test plans from design specifications and review them with architects and designers.
  • Implement block/IP testbenches using UVM and appropriate HVLs.
  • Create and maintain regression flows, run regressions, triage failures, and support designers with root cause analysis.
  • Collect and monitor verification metrics (pass rate, functional coverage) and report health.
  • Analyze functional and code coverage to identify holes and work with design teams to improve coverage.
  • Perform SoC-level verification in full-chip test environments for IPs.
  • Research and deploy advanced verification methodologies and automation to improve productivity.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; nice-to-have items are listed separately.

  • Must-have: 5+ years of practical verification experience (industry); strong experience with verification flow including testplan, testbench, coverage models, and BFM modeling.
  • Deep understanding of Verilog and one or more high-level verification languages (HVL).
  • Familiarity with advanced verification methodologies, tools, and flows (UVM experience required).
  • Experience building and maintaining regression infrastructure and coverage-driven verification.
  • Ability to triage regression failures and collaborate with designers to resolve functional issues.
  • Nice-to-have: Strong programming skills in Python and/or C/C++; scripting experience in Perl, Shell, or Ruby is a plus.
  • Architectural or design experience is a significant advantage.

Education Requirements

MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
