Senior Design Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Responsible for planning and executing functional verification of IP blocks used in complex SoCs and FPGAs. Collaborates with architecture, design, software, and validation teams to ensure first-pass silicon success.
Experience Level
Senior-level β 10+ years of experience in ASIC or FPGA design verification.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Define verification strategy and detailed test plans with architects and designers.
- Develop UVM-based, constrained-random verification environments using SystemVerilog.
- Create directed and random tests, sequences, drivers, monitors, scoreboards, and checkers.
- Apply SystemVerilog Assertions (SVA) and formal methods to verify complex properties.
- Execute simulation regressions, debug failures, analyze root causes, and collaborate on fixes.
- Define and track functional and code coverage metrics to drive coverage closure.
- Develop automation scripts and verification infrastructure (Python, Perl, Tcl).
- Participate in technical reviews of specifications, design documents, and test plans.
Requirements
Must-haves:
- 10+ years of ASIC or FPGA design verification experience.
- Expertise in HDLs (Verilog or VHDL) and SystemVerilog.
- Proven experience building UVM testbenches and verification components.
- Proficiency in coverage-driven and assertion-based verification methodologies.
- Familiarity with protocols such as AMBA (AXI, ACE, CHI, APB), PCIe, or Ethernet is a plus.
- Experience with simulation and debug tools (e.g., Synopsys VCS, Cadence Xcelium, Mentor Questa).
- Strong scripting skills in Python, Perl, or Tcl for automation and data analysis.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
