Job Title

Senior Design Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Work in Qualcomm's Peripheral IP organization to verify wired and wireless peripheral IP and subsystem integrations for Snapdragon platforms. The role focuses on end-to-end design verification, testbench development, and cross-team collaboration across design, architecture, software, and validation.

Experience Level

Senior β€” expected 5+ years of hands-on design verification experience, particularly with SystemVerilog and UVM.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities involve ownership of verification for IP and subsystems delivered into SoCs, from planning through sign-off.

  • Verify IP and subsystem level peripherals integrated into complex SoCs.
  • Own end-to-end verification: testbench architecture, test planning, execution, and coverage closure.
  • Develop and maintain UVM/SystemVerilog verification environments using constrained-random, assertions, and coverage-driven methods.
  • Debug complex issues in large-scale regression environments and drive root-cause analysis to resolution.
  • Collaborate with design, architecture, software, and validation teams across multiple sites.
  • Serve as a technical focal point for DV methodology, debug, and verification quality.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for successful performance in this role.

  • 5+ years hands-on design verification experience using SystemVerilog and UVM.
  • Strong understanding of digital design fundamentals and SoC / IP-level architectures.
  • Proven UVM testbench architecture experience (agents, sequences, scoreboards, coverage models).
  • Experience with constrained-random and coverage-driven verification methodologies.
  • Proven ability to debug complex issues in large regression environments.
  • Scripting and automation experience using Python, Perl, Tcl, or shell in Linux/UNIX.

Preferred / Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with high-speed peripheral IPs (USB, PCIe, Display, SerDes, similar I/O subsystems).
  • Knowledge of low-power design, reset sequencing, and clock-domain interactions at IP or SoC level.
  • Familiarity with regression management, verification metrics, and sign-off criteria.
  • Experience working effectively with global, cross-site teams and potential to grow into a technical or team-lead role.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's (BSc/BS) or Master's (MSc/MS) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Science, Engineering or a related field are listed; PhD also referenced. The posting also allows equivalent practical experience in lieu of formal degree requirements.
