Job Title

Senior Design for Test (DFT) Engineer

Role Summary

Senior engineer responsible for defining and delivering DFT architecture, implementation, verification and silicon bring-up for ASIC/SoC products. Work across product lines to achieve high test coverage, low power and low test time, and mentor junior team members.

Experience Level

Senior β€” 6–8 years of directly related ASIC/SoC DFT experience as specified in the posting.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include DFT design, verification, automation and silicon support.

  • Define DFT specifications, architecture and implementation using industry methodologies and tools.
  • Deliver high-quality ATPG patterns with high coverage and low test time.
  • Perform scan insertion, compression insertion, on-chip clock control insertion, ATPG and DFT verification.
  • Support pre- and post-silicon verification, silicon bring-up and failure analysis/debug.
  • Develop and maintain DFT flow automation and contribute to methodology improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience.

  • 6–8 years of direct ASIC/SoC DFT experience.
  • Expert knowledge of DFT architecture, scan, test compression, at-speed test, MBIST and LBIST.
  • Hands-on experience with Tessent DFT tools; familiarity with Cadence and Synopsys DFT tools is beneficial.
  • Experience with scan insertion, compression insertion, on-chip clock control insertion, ATPG and DFT verification.
  • Gate-level simulation with SDF and silicon failure analysis/debug experience.
  • Scripting skills in Perl, Python or Tcl for flow automation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with IEEE 1149/JTAG, static timing analysis, synthesis and DFT insertion.
  • Experience with Built-In Self-Test (BIST) and low-power scan techniques (UPF).
