Senior Design for Test (DFT) Engineer

Role Summary

Senior DFT engineer responsible for defining and implementing DFT architecture, creating ATPG patterns, and supporting pre- and post-silicon verification and debug for mixed-signal/ASIC product lines. The role works within the test/DFT team in Limerick and collaborates with design, verification and lab teams to deliver high coverage, low-power, low-test-time solutions.

Experience Level

Senior — requires approximately 6–8 years of directly related ASIC/SoC DFT experience per the posting.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

• Define DFT specifications, architecture and implementation for ASIC/SoC designs.
• Develop and deliver high-quality ATPG patterns and DFT verification artifacts.
• Support DFT methodology, flow automation and process improvements.
• Perform pre-silicon and post-silicon verification, bring-up and failure analysis.
• Implement scan insertion, compression insertion, on-chip clock control insertion and related flows.
• Mentor junior team members and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
• Balance coverage, test time and power constraints across product lines.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

• 6–8 years of ASIC/SoC DFT experience.
• Expert knowledge of DFT architecture, planning and implementation.
• Hands-on experience with Tessent DFT tools.
• Expertise in Scan, Test Compression, At-Speed Test, MBIST and LBIST.
• Experience with scan insertion, compression insertion, ATPG and DFT verification.
• Gate-level simulation with SDF and silicon bring-up/failure-analysis experience.
• Scripting proficiency in Perl, Python or Tcl.
• Strong teamwork, communication skills and ability to mentor others.
• Willingness to travel ~10% for lab and cross-site activities.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with Cadence and Synopsys DFT tools.
• Familiarity with IEEE 1149/JTAG, static timing analysis, synthesis and DFT insertion.
• Experience with BIST, low-power scan techniques and UPF.
