Senior Design Evaluation Engineer

Role Summary

Evaluate, characterize, and validate advanced ADC, DAC, and high-speed serial interfaces (SERDES) to ensure product readiness for production and system integration. Work as a technical lead within a product engineering team, performing hands-on lab testing and collaborating with design, test, applications, and marketing teams.

Experience Level

Senior β€” requires substantial industry experience; this role expects approximately 5+ years of relevant RF/mixed-signal product engineering experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include hands-on evaluation, debugging, automation, and cross-functional communication.

  • Lead evaluation and characterization of ADCs, DACs, and high-speed serial interfaces for transceiver products.
  • Debug and analyze complex mixed-signal and RF systems across operating conditions; document and present findings.
  • Perform functional and performance testing of silicon and embedded software; validate readiness for production release.
  • Develop and automate test solutions using Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, and similar tools.
  • Use precision measurement equipment (network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal generators) to establish performance metrics.
  • Recommend improvements for testability, manufacturability, and qualification; support field quality initiatives.
  • Collaborate with design, applications, and marketing teams and engage with customers to resolve product issues.
  • Analyze measurement data and contribute to system-level solutions for transceiver products.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • Hands-on expertise with precision RF and mixed-signal lab equipment and measurement techniques.
  • Proven ability to automate RF and mixed-signal tests using Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW; familiarity with C/C++ or similar languages.
  • Deep knowledge of analog and RF circuits, high-speed serial interfaces, ADCs/DACs, and mixed-signal systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; experience working in multi-disciplinary, global teams.
  • Ability to develop test procedures and to document and present technical results to engineering and cross-functional teams.

Education Requirements

BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field. Typically accompanied by 5+ years of industry experience in RF/mixed-signal product engineering.
