Job Title

Senior Design Engineer - Security IP

Role Summary

Join the Solutions Engineering Security IP team to design and productize hardware security IP and subsystems for SoC platforms. The role focuses on architecture, RTL development, verification support, and design optimization for security features such as secure boot, key management, and hardware root of trust.

Experience Level

Senior-level. The job title indicates a senior role; no explicit years-of-experience requirement is stated.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include design, specification, verification support, and mentoring within the security IP team.

  • Define architectures and write specifications for security IP and subsystems.
  • Develop RTL (Verilog) and timing/implementation constraints; perform bug fixes and design optimization.
  • Collaborate with verification and implementation teams to build test plans, drive verification closure, and support debug.
  • Deliver functional, power, and performance sign-off for security features.
  • Contribute to team processes, methodologies, and tooling for design and productization.
  • Mentor junior engineers and work with leadership on project planning, roadmaps, and schedules.

Requirements

Key technical requirements and desirable skills. Degree information is summarized under Education Requirements below.

  • Advanced Verilog RTL design skills and familiarity with verification and EDA methodologies.
  • Experience in Security Hardware, embedded processor systems, applied cryptography, secure boot, key management, and access control.
  • SoC architecture experience: multi-clock domains, AXI/AHB protocols, multi-power domains, and reset architectures.
  • Competency with synthesis, timing analysis, and constraints development.
  • Familiarity with design checks: CDC, RDC, X-Propagation, and LINT.
  • Knowledge of power management techniques, UPF, power estimation, and power optimization.
  • Scripting experience with Perl, Python, TCL, or similar.

Nice-to-have:

  • Familiarity with ARM-based designs and ARM system architectures.
  • Experience with ECO methodologies.
  • SystemVerilog and verification methodologies (UVM/OVM), Portable Stimulus, and hardware/firmware co-verification.

Education Requirements

Preferred: Bachelor's or Graduate degree in Computer Science or Electrical/Computer Engineering. (The posting lists these degrees as preferred rather than mandatory.)
