Senior Design Engineer - Memory Subsystem
NVIDIAJob Title
Senior Design Engineer - Memory Subsystem
Role Summary
As a Senior Design Engineer you will own micro-architecture and RTL implementation of memory-subsystem modules for NVIDIA GPUs and SoCs. You will collaborate with architects, verification, synthesis/timing, physical design, FPGA and software teams to deliver synthesis- and timing-clean designs to silicon.
Work focuses on meeting performance, power and area targets across products ranging from consumer graphics to AI and autonomous systems.
Experience Level
Senior-level; typically requires 4+ years of ASIC/RTL design experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include delivering micro-architecture and RTL for memory subsystem features and ensuring correctness through full lifecycle verification and bring-up.
- Own micro-architecture and RTL development of design modules.
- Architect features to meet performance, power and area targets.
- Define critical features with hardware architects.
- Collaborate with verification teams to validate implemented features.
- Work with timing, VLSI and physical design teams to meet timing, interface and routability requirements.
- Cooperate with FPGA and software teams on prototyping and software testing.
- Participate in post-silicon verification and lab debug.
Requirements
Must-have qualifications:
- 4+ years of ASIC/RTL design experience.
- Experience with micro-architecture and RTL development of complex designs.
- Exposure to design and verification tools (e.g., VCS or equivalent; debug tools such as Debussy, GDB).
- Deep understanding of ASIC design flow: RTL design, verification, logic synthesis, prototyping, timing analysis, floor-planning, ECO, bring-up and lab debug.
- Expertise in Verilog.
Nice-to-have:
- Design experience in memory subsystem or network interconnect IP.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Scripting skills (Python, Perl, shell).
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work on cross-functional teams.
Education Requirements
BS or MS (or equivalent practical experience). A degree in a technical or engineering discipline is typical; equivalency by relevant experience is accepted.
